Judging are we?

Welcome back!

No, I am not griping about someone who is judging me.  What is bothering me is that some of my neighbors in our apartment complex are judging each other.  Not good.

Matthew 7:1-2  Judge not, that ye be not judged.  For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged:  and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

In other words, would you be able to stand up to your own judgment?  Would you pass your own supposed values?  Gossip is judging people, and not very nicely.  It is bad enough that people go through hard times without someone talking about them, too.  I am human and have fought gossip myself because I do enjoy talking.  Without thinking carefully about your words, gossip can sneak up on you.  It has done that to me.

When I think back about it late, I can not take back the hastily spoken words that came out of my mouth, just because I wanted to talk.  Spoken words can cause pain to those who are involved.  The one spoken about is hurt,  you are hurt when they no longer trust you in return.

Soap operas on TV are one thing - false.  Gossip in real life is something else - spoken poison.  Please think before speaking.  If you do not say the bad things, you do not need to apologize later.
