Haven’t given up - not going to either.

Welcome back!

I haven’t given up. Not going to either. We have been in the middle of emotional turmoil, and physical sickness that has been really rough. Since the end of October, we have had 4 people die that we care about. They all loved the Lord, so we know where they all are right now. They no longer hurt. Praise God for that !

We found out about the 2 types of flu that have been going around because we caught them both. One back at the beginning of November, the other at the beginning of February. The coughing seems almost unending. I know that is not true because only God is unending. Our ribs have been protesting, our throats, too. However, the couging is coming to an end and we can breathe again. I want to give God the praise since He is the one Who has gotten us through this mess. Neither of us came down with Pneumonia. We avoided the hospital. We are recovering nicely.  When you are sick, it is hard to think of blessings.  When you have started to recover, those blessings are still there, you can just see them without the sickness interfering.  While we were sick, we had people who called and were praying for us.  Some came by with prepared food for us to eat, so we didn’t need to fix meals.  As I said earlier, the blessings were there, but the sickness, and our own weakness kept us from seeing the blessings.

In the world’s eyes, we are not rich or well to do.  In God’s eyes, we ARE blessed.  We have friends and family who care.  We have a place to live, food to eat, medicine for our bodies, clothes for our protection.  Money in the bank is nice, but if it is never used, it cannot bless someone.  I am not saying that to be poor is great, but there are more things on the face of the earth than collecting money.  We have had some of our blessing show in remarkable ways. I had been concerned that we would not have the supplies to get through the month, but God provided through those family and friends that I had mentioned.  There are 2 scriptures that come to mind.

This one I cannot remember where it is:  God will make a way where there seems to be none.

Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (NAS)
