Tradition

Welcome back!

What do you think about tradition?  How many people go to church out of tradition?  Have you heard someone say that they had heard a good message that day, yet if you asked them what the message was they wouldn’t know?

Tradition can be a good thing, yet sometimes tradition can dump a lot of unnecessary weight on your shoulders, too.  Do you go to church for the sake of tradition or because you  really want to praise God for His blessings in your life.  Yes, that was a statement, not a question.  So far I have been in both places.  I talked to a very close friend today about tradition and how it is in today’s churches.  Some would have you sit in the same place each and every day, others don’t care as long as you show up.  Some worry how you are dressed, and what type of clothes you wear.  Others do not care as long as you are covered.  Some people go to church to show off their clothes - out of tradition.  Yes, church can be a very social time, but is that the only thing you find there?  What about God?  Have you left Him out of your church going experience?  If so, you are missing out on something wonderful.  Imagine that the Creator of the universe wants you for a close ally.  He wants you to think of Him as your Father.  He would really like for you to contact Him today and let Him help you with everything in your life.  His daily guidance in my life is why I am not grumpy any more.
