Praises and prayers 7-02-09

Hello again.  Today I want to praise the Lord for some blessings.  My husband has another motorcycle that he can use for God’s glory, and he has applied to again take part in the J.A.I.L. Ministry.  The ministers go into the county jail and minister to the jail inmates.  This ministry also talks to those who are feeling suicidal, are grieving, or have problems that they need to talk to someone about.  He had taken part of this ministry before but had needed to cease because of illness in the family.  Being able to join in again is a blessing.  We both pray that he will be able to add to God’s glory.

There are also some very serious prayer requests:

John Baker - He is a chaplain where he works. He had acid reflux that ate holes in both his esophagus and stomach.  He went through 2 serious surgeries and the doctors put him into a medical coma so that he would not tear his surgeries open.  While in that coma, he has developed pneumonia as a complication.

Vickie Harris - She and her husband were out of state visiting family.  She developed severe gastritis.  The doctors will not allow her to fly home.  There is something about the air pressure that could cause her intestines to burst open and she would die.

These two people are in dire need of prayer.  I thank you for your time.  If you have a need, please do not hesitate to contact me.  If you have a praise report, those also are great to hear about.

God Bless You

June 28, 2009

Here I am again.  I would really like to say something about the program on ABC the other night, but do not want politics to interfere.

There is a lady in the hospital right now who is dying, unless the Lord does something drastic for her.  Her name is Becky Solorio.  The doctors found the cancer too late to do anything for her.  I know that God is able to do all things.  One way or another He will heal her.  Either by taking her home to be with Him, or physically in her body, so that she can be with her family some more.  Her family is really torn up by this and they all need your prayers.

Here are some others who need additional prayers:

Wendy - disease in her legs

Bill in Arkansas - heart attack, family also needs prayer

John in Arkansas - severe stomach surgery

Margaret N - troublesome son causing upset over legal stuff

Kat - medical decision to be made

Ruthie Mae - she lives near a large lot that is overgrown and a dangerous fire hazard.  She is concerned for her home and family.

Fern Lucas - medical

Penny - problems in her leg, doctors not sure if a pinched nerve or something else

David H - rusty nail went into his knee at a construction site

Johnnie Griffith - weakness, heat is bad for him, recovery from stroke

Princess - guidance, growth in the Lord

Mary S - nephew is doctor at hospital and needs protection from exposure to different diseases.

All of your prayers are gratefully accepted.  Thank you.

Happy Father’s Day 6-21-09

Yes, this is another Father’s Day.  I grew up an only child and did not have a biological father around because of various things that happened.  When I got saved, I learned about ABBA - Father God.  The word ABBA literally translates as ‘daddy’.  Now I have a Daddy God Who looks after me and helps me to behave and keeps me safe.  That is something wonderful for someone who had never had a daddy of any type.  God will gladly be Daddy God to any one who wants Him in their lives.  All that needs to be done is to ask.  I asked, He is there for me all the time now.  Even if things do not always go the way that I want them to go, He is still there for me.  Even when, and I do mean when I misbehave, He is still there.  Being corrected by Him does make me easier to live with,  I learn and grow.  Life is good.

I do not say that every thing is perfect - NO WAY - we live in an impoerfect world.  With ‘Daddy’ God looking after me though, even the hard times are not as hard anymore.

Meanwhile, here are some more prayer requests:

Pete H - family problems

David H - grief over child given up for adoption when he was younger

Mary S - back

Eddie C - back

The Moore family

Salvation for our families, the times are getting harder and salvation is needed by everyone.

Dorothy P - concerns over living alone when she is very elderly

LeRoy J - Loneliness

Brenda Pegg -  family trouble (alcoholic spouse), cataracts, needs new church home

Daniel M - property for sale in W Texas

Again, thank you for all of your prayers, they are appreciated.

June 7. 2009

June 6 th is basically remembered as D Day when the Allied forces started to retake Europe during WW2.  That was quite a number of decades ago and the world is still having its conflicts.  The only peace to be found on this planet comes from a true acceptance of the Lord and His saving grace.  With His peace there is an understanding that He also answers prayer.

Therefore, here are some more prayer requests from different places in our nation on this day of June 7th.

Franky - he has been having mini-strokes and seizures, right now he is in the hospital and they do not know why seizures are occuring.

Bion S +family - he is recovering from a sudden heart attack and needs prayer for a full recovery.

Amy - salvation

Hilburn - guidance

Stacey Lynn- protection, and the Lord’s knowledge

The Langenback families - many health problems

Ed L - loneliness, grief

Harold G - he has been having chest pains and using nitro-glycerine tablets.

Scooter - (Teresa) has been going through a severe cancer scare.  She is mother to a disabled child and 2 other daughters.

Something Nice

Today we had a flat and a damaged rim.  That sounds bad, BUT the Lord turned it into something very nice.

The employees of the station we pulled into were so kind, compassionate, and nice that I had to write about it.

They made sure we were okay, then proceeded to give my husband, brother and I some free coffee(my cup was bigger *snicker*)   The manager came out and talked with us and made sure we were okay and told us about the opposite corner which also claims vehicle with flat tires and damaged rims.  We were told that we should NOT worry about needing to park in the station and were invited to wait inside while waiting for help.

Kindness, compassion, and concern are sometimes rare these days.  I believe that good things like these should always be mentioned.  I pray that the Lord watches over these wonderful examples of good employees and blesses them.  They are a good witness for the Exxon Corporation and its employees.

The station is:

TRAVELMART#18     3002 Thornton Lane, Temple, TX 76502

I have contaced the Corporate headquarters and bragged about the goodness of these people.  I will be back to that station again. :)

Hello Again - Prayer Requests 5-31-09

Had a wonderful service at church today.  The message came out of Matthew 24 on the last days.  If you look around at the world and what is going on, you can realize that all of the bad stuff is going to hit the fan.  Wars, rumors of wars, plagues, and pestilences are all over the place.  Earthquakes, bad storms, weird things happening are all going on.  For the believer, this should be exciting and make us want the Lord to come back even quicker.

For the unbeliever, it should be very scary.  Right now is the time to make sure that you or they are ready for what ever happens.  Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.  He is the source of our hope.

Below are some new prayer requests:

Phyllis - guidance

Virgie Jackson - Sundowners Syndrome, she is in and out of the hospital

Makeesha - healing from surgery on her shoulder (she has a baby to raise)

Jennifer M - marriage problems

Amber + Billy

Jason

Daniel M - spiritual strength, physical strength

Karen M - guidance

Olivia - having job interviews

Kiran - family

Tristen - child in the hospital, swelling on his head

Beverly - growth on vocal cords

Marie - lungs

Zona

Ed L - grief

Larry C - guidance

Margaret - leg problems

Dece + Oma Van Dervogart - he has medical problems will be undergoing surgery soon.

Family Gospel Church - for members;  guidance, strength, power through Jesus, a new Pentecost within

New prayer requests 5-23-09

Yes, there are some more prayer requests. Each day, there re people that have needs, some are on going, others aren’t.

Pete Henry’s son is going on active duty, he needs protection.

Milton B - ease of breathing

Larry C - guidance

unspoken requests

Dorie- grief over loss of husband and son 6 years ago today.

Phyllis C - relief of pain

1 John 4:7,8 Beloved let us love one another, for love is of God, and he who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God for God is love.

God’ love does not want others to be hurt or to fail. 1 Corinthians, chapter 13 has a rather comprehensive list of the proper attributes of love.

Psalm 41

Blessed is he that considereth the poor:  the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive;  and he shall be blessed upon the earth:  and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing:  thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

I said, Lord, be merciful unto me:  heal my soul;  for I have sinned against thee.

Mine enemies speak evil of me, “When shall he die, and his name perish?”

And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity:  his heart gathereth iniquity to itself;  when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

All that hate me whisper together against me:  against me do they devise my hurt.

An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him:  and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.

Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

But Thou, o Lord, be merciful unto me and raise me up, that I may requite them.

By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.

Blessed by the Lord God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting.

Amen, and Amen.

This is a prayer for protection.  If you read this at least once a week and pray over it, you will find the blessings that are written in it.
