Living Mud

That might sounds a strange title, but it is true nonetheless.

Scientists have figured out that we, as people, are made of over 90% water, and a handful of chemicals, put together with electricity of some sort.

Genesis 2:7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Yes, common dirt or dust was used.  When you add water to dirt, you get mud.  We are living mud.  What makes us different from that?

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

We are more than just the dirt or dust of the ground.  We have been blessed with life from the very breath of God.

How awesome is that?

Grief

My husband has family in Arkansas.

One of his nieces,( Mary) + her child, her nephew (Joseph) + his child were all in an auto wreck.

Mary is dead.  Joseph is dead.  Their kids have been sent to the hospital.  I have no idea what their condition is right now.

The entire family needs prayer.

UPDATE 2-17-10

There were four people in the car, yes.  However the information needs to be corrected.  They were Mary, her 7 year old daughter, her son Michael, and her nephew Joseph.  Joseph was the son of her sister Michele.

My husband and I have had to deal with grief before and realize that it can cause information to be given out sporadically and incorrectly.  This is the latest that I have been able to find out, since they are all in another state.

Happy Valentine’s day to everyone.

John 15:13  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Revival all week

We have been blessed each day this past week.  We have been going through revival.

It has been glorious and a lot of fun. :)

We have had bible study, prayer, lots of fellowship, and definitely lots of praise.  My spirits have been lifted up, my husband has been smiling more, and there is more joy in our souls.

The way that I figure it, the glad tidings are the result of being blessed and God should get all of the kudos.

Things have been happening 1-23-10

Things have been going on the last3 months.

Fist, I have some prayer requests:

Walter and Eddie - she has had gall bladder surgery, he just lost his brother.

Harold had surgery and is recovering.

Carlton - going through divorce and is torn up.

Now for the things that have been going on.  The Lord has kept us from going nuts, and it has been busy.  Maybe I should have said we have been busy.

Starting in October, my husband got sick.  A lot of tests were run on him, anti-biotics prescribed and finally a diagnosis was given.  He was having some prostate trouble.  He needed surgery.  Well, a first date was set finally in November, but a medicine screw-up caused it to be delayed.  He was getting catheterized each day about 5-6 times (PAIN).  He was having cramping and pain every day.  Most of the time, he was in misery.  Then finally a date was set for his surgery.  January 5th.  So, for months he was going through pain, cramps, and the indignity of catheterization.  OY

Well, he has now had his surgery, he is recovering, and the pain and cramps from his trouble have stopped for the most part.  The doctor used a laser to vaporize the offending area.  Everything is now looking up from where things had gotten to.  Now, all we have to do is get his blood sugar balanced.  Still, everything could have been worse.  The doctor told us that they got to the problem in time to keep it from becoming closer to being cancerous.  He is no longer having the same recurring infections that he’d been having before.  A lot of the upset is now gone. :)

Prayers needed

Tomorrow, my husband undergoes surgery for his prostate problems.  Any and all prayers would be appreciated.  We have not been able to attend church since this all began, it has been very frustrating to us.

We are praying that this surgery will end the problems, once and for all.

Update 12-13-09

It has been a while since I have been able to write here.

This is the update on what has been happening.  My husband has been going through ‘hell’ on earth.  Since the end of October, he has been getting treatment for UTI’s (urinary track infections).  The underlying cause was discovered to be his prostate which had gotten enlarged.  It has been blocking his urethra partially and not allowing his bladder to empty.

There have been many doctor’s office visits.  The end result was his getting a catheter installed for a solid week.   After that, it was removed and an operation was planned using a laser to clean out the area involved.  The operation was planned to be on December 10th.  Until that time, he had to be catheterized at least 3 times each day if not more.  When he went in to the anesthesia assessment unit for the pre-op interview, the nurse doing the interview discovered that he had not been told to stop his Plavix and daily aspirin.  Goodbye operation.

He was rescheduled for a thallium stress test and interview with a cardiologist.  It not be until December the 17th.  His cardiologist will be going on vacation that particular day, and will not return until the 22nd.  So, he will be seeing another doctor after the test.

The one thing that I have not mentioned yet is the daily pain that he goes through each time that he is catheterized.  Remember - 3 times daily.  This has been going on since the first week in December.  The catheterization process also caused severe cramps at times.

It has been a nightmare.  Mostly for my husband since he is unable to do this procedure himself.  I am the one to do it.  It makes me cringe, but I know that it is necessary.  We now have a routine to doing this and things are time, almost with precision.  He still has the pain each day, though.

We need prayer.
