Prayer Requests 11-17-08

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Believers from all over the world reach out to one another and ask for prayer.  When we, ourselves reach out for them, we also take part in a great out reach to God for His mercy and compassion.  Thank God for the internet that helps this to take place even easier than when just letters were sent back and forth.  From Bangladesh comes this prayer request : Hasina Akhter

While you are praying for her, please also pray for these others:

Hazel Perry - health

Adam - shoulders + surgery

Bosco - broken arm

The more that we pray for one another, the better it is for all of us.

Thank You for praying for God’s mercy for everyone listed here and in other places.  Thank You, Jesus for listening and keeping us close to Your heart.  Thank You, Jesus for interceding for us with You Father in Heaven. In Jesus’ name I pray - Amen.

Prayer Needed 11-15-08

My husband and I ran into a second cousin at the store.  He told use of a woman in mush need for healing in her body.

Hazel Perry and her husband Bill Perry.  She has been fighting cancer and kidney problems, serious ones.

Another continuing need for prayer is Jennifer Hale and her family.  Her kidneys are unblocking, but she still needs prayer.

Our country needs utmost prayer, because it is going through tough times : politically, financially, spiritually.

Our political leaders need prayer to make wise choices, for their choices effect us for long times.

Thank You for every prayer.

Quench Your Thirst

I just saw a picture that immediately spoke to me about how we are to thirst for God’s grace. This picture shows two mice looking at a drop of water that is hanging on the tip of a leaf.

The look in the faces of those mice, shows complete interest and hope in that drop of water. One mouse is just looking and hoping. The other mouse appears to be reaching with everything in its little body to get that water. We should be reaching out to God in the same way as that reaching mouse. We should be striving with everything in our power to quench our thirst with God’s presence in our lives. The hope that can be seen in their eyes, I have seen in human eyes, too. Sometimes things happen to dash the hope in a person’s eyes. That is so sad. However, God is still waiting for anyone to reach out to Him with that same yearning and hope for their thirst to be quenched. Why don’t you try reaching out to Him through His Son, Jesus. Your hope will be answered, your thirst will be quenched.

The Preacher’s Son

My sister just sent me an article that is very touching.  It is called The Preacher’s Son

It does explain why we should tell people about Jesus every time we have the opportunity.  That young man did the Lord’s Will and a life was saved along with a soul.  My husband went out witnessing with a friend at an apartment complex here in town that people used to call ‘Little Harlem’ because of all the troubles going on there.  They went house to house and talked to people.  Once house they went to had very loud shouting coming from it.  A man and wife were fighting, loudly.  When they knocked on the door the fight was finished and the couple listened to what was said.  I do not know if they decided for Jesus, but they listened and the fight ended.  Bringing The Lord into peoples’ lives is always a blessing.

In Memorial

James Raymond Moore  aka Jesse ‘Two Moons ‘Moore, Sonny

January16, 1938 - October 28, 3008

Biker, Soldier, Preacher, Friend, Brother, Uncle

He served in the army Rangers, fought in Korea and other places.  He rode with the Hells Angels for a while.  He traveled all over this country.  He was led to the Lord Jesus by friends in Texas City, Texas.  He became a preacher and evangelist and started a group called El Shaddai’s Warriors. I have learned that there are now clubs all over this country.  He developed cancer of the lungs and died in a VA Hospital Hospice bed.  We will miss him.

He has a half-brother called Ronald, and a niece called Gail.  We do not know where to find them so they can know what happened to their family member.  He will be missed.

More prayer requests 10-24-08

A bunch more people need prayer for various needs.  Here they are:

Besiiee - allergies + nasal problems

Tom - eyes + surgery

Mollie - wisdom +emotions

Lura - computer problems

Steve - salvation

Jess - healing + justice

These are serious requests that have been brought up.  All of your prayers are appreciated.

Jess is now in the Temple, Texas VA Hospital, but there are a lot of things that have happened to him that need to be put right. It is all in God’s hands for Him to take care of the situation.  My husband and I both write on this blog, and we also need prayer to get rid of the anger that we feel concerning the treatment that Jess had received at the hands of a ’supposed’ friend.  We cannot give details, but God does know what, and who, and why.  We just need to shed the anger, so it does not drag us down, too.

Thank You for your prayers.

A Girl Called ‘N’

I was just told some disturbing news today.  I have a great neice who has been raped, violently.

She ended in the hospital with broken ribs, bruises all over and ripped in a private place.  Stitches were needed.   She works in a public place and with her injuries might not be able to work for a while.  The rapist admitted to police what he had done.  I do not know if he had yet been Mirandized by the police.

I am calling her ‘N’ to protect her privacy.  Please pray for her and her husband,  He threw the rapist against the wall when caught in the act of rape.  This whole situation needs urgent prayer, please.

Some answered prayers 10-15-08

I had posted an article asking prayer for a family member.  We recently had confirmation that he will soon be transferred down close to us so we can visit him.  This is something to be thankful for.  He still needs healing in his body and spirit because of all the things going on, however, being able to finally visit him face-to-face will be wonderful.  He loves the Lord and is trusting in Jesus for answers to more prayers.

As I have mentioned before, his name is James Moore (aka Jesse Two Moons).

Your continued prayers would be gratfully appreciated.

Family

Family is something that is not talked about much these days.  What we see on TV is not always presented accurately.  The picture presented of family is sometimes twisted or entirely off from what family really is.

Family can be blood kin folk.  Family can be people who choose to associate with each other as other than just close friends.  Family does not always agree within the group about things that go on, or things that happen.  There is however a love and concern for each other that would not be present with groups that are just associates.  Yes, family bicker sometimes, each of us is after all an individual.  We will not always agree on everything eye to eye, that’s life, that’s family.  Family however,  will many times stick together in spite of the differences that may happen between each other.  An author that I like to read talked about having a sister-of-the-heart.  They were not born sisters, or sisters by marriage, they chose to be each others’ sisters.  I find that to be accurate, as I,too, have sisters-of-the-heart.

We can also chose to have family-of-the-heart with others. When we chose to accept Jesus into our lives, we can also choose to accept other believers as family-of-the-heart.  We can end up with family all over the world from other countries.  No one can say that everything will be perfect, we are each individuals.  However each of us was raised, will affect how we respond to different things.  That is true with regular blood family also.  Why not get yourself a large family?  It is not always nice to be alone in this world.
