Happy Birthday Today

Welcome back!

There is another new Christian in God’s Kingdom tonight.  HALLELUJAH

She had lost her daughter recently, her son before that.  She is going through trials right now, but she now has God helping her. Please pray for her. Kathy.

Who do you serve?

Good question.

I had someone once ask me about the vest that I wear out in public.  It is for the El Shaddai’s Warriors motorcycle ministry.  On the back, the center patch has several emblems on  it.  One of those shows a shield with a star of David on it.  The lady asked me why that was there since I am a Christian.  I told her that I serve a Jewish Carpenter.

Anyone who has read the bible knows that refers to Jesus.  The Jewish people are God’s people.  Any Christian is an adopted child of God through Jesus.   These days it seems to be ‘the thing’ to smear or criticize Israel.  The flotilla incident is just one thing.  Those soldiers had to defend themselves from being stabbed to death, or being bludgeoned to death by those ‘activists’ who were carrying weapons.  The media has decided to ignore that fact and instead to criticize those Israeli soldiers for defending themselves from the people on board of that blockade running ship.  The blockade is NOT against civilized law since Israel has been attacked in ways too numerous to list here.  Ordinary people have the right to defend their lives every day.  Why are the Israelis not allowed the same right?

I am afraid that I am complaining here.  Inequality does have a tendency to make me upset.  So, back to the original question.  Who do you serve?  Some people have been seen to serve their company, or its employment rules.  Others seem to serve at the local bar.  Still others serve their country by being in the military.  Some are publicly seen to serve the goals of terrorism.

I choose to serve a Jewish Carpenter.

Latest Stuff

Well, God’s people have been busy.

Our associate pastor was in an auto accident.  His truck is now totaled, and he needs it get it replaced.  Thank God, he was not even scratched.

One of the members of our ministry -El Shaddai’s Warriors - was riding his motorcycle when he was hit by a woman.  His bike needs just a little work, but he is sore and slightly bruised.  Thank God that is all since bikes going against cars is usually a fatality, but not this time.  The woman was going slowly enough that he was able to bang on her window to get her to stop.  She is the mother of HIS pastor.

So here are the prayer requests for this week:

Larry Carpenter - replacement truck for his farm work

Mike Sanchez - healing for his bruises, and some work for his bike

Dorothy Peterson - kidney failure

Evan W. - safety

Mindy + baby

Phyllis C - unending pain and fatigue from Fibromyalgia

Harold G - hit head hard the other day and having headaches (yet the ER did a CAT scan, no bleeding)

Milton B - breathing, strangth

Mark David - guidance, protection

Butch

unknown prisoner with Hepatitis C - untreatable at this time

Linda’s mom - her home was robbed

David B - the family of a co-worker, she died after a wreck

Peace in Jerusalem

Milton’s step son - relapsed into drugs

Pete Henry + Son - son is getting ready to go to Iraq

These are the prayer requests that I have for now.  Of course, please do not forget to pray for anyone adversely effected by the big oil gusher.  Many are losing a way of life, and their health is being effected, too.

Concerned

We have had some friends come up from New Braunfels, Texas this month.

The motorcycle that they came up here on is needing repair.  There is no place that I know of here in town that helps stranded travelers.  They need prayer.

Something else that I found out.  Our local food pantry is running out of food and other supplies.  There are more people than ever lining up to get help each day.

Trouble

The wife of our church’s pastor - Becky Ballard - is in the hospital.

She has had 2 instances of heart trouble since being in there.  We really need prayer for her and her family.   Please lift them up, especially her.  This is the first time that we know of the she has had heart trouble.  It has been a surprise, and unexpected.

We have known her and her husband for years.  Milton has been fighting off COPD, uses oxygen,  and other medications.

PLEASE PRAY FOR HER + HIM.  The more that are praying, the better.

Thank you

Here I am again

I’ve started a new medication that sometimes has left me in a fog.  I figured it would be better that I not write, than to write (sort of) and leave you wondering if I had lost my mind.

Went to church today and listened to a great message out of Hosea 14.  When things go wrong, remember, ‘it is written’.  The Word of God is the best place to go to help figure out the solution to your problems.

Here are the prayer requests for today May 23, 2010:

Margaret N.                  Mindy + baby                      Jeremy

Rusty                              Phyllis C                               Milton

Becky                              Larry C                                Eddie

Walter                             Christine                              LeRoy

Norman                           Virginia                                Sam

Michael                            Vance                                   Tosha

David                               Family Gospel Church        Our political leaders

Do you have a ministry?

Believe it or not, every believer is actually given a ministry by God when they get saved.

At the end of Matthew, Jesus gave all of us a commission - Go Ye into all the world preaching the gospel to every nation.

I don’t know about you, but I am a ‘Ye”.  In Colossians, chapter 4, verse 17 , one of the disciples was told to tend to the ministry that God gave him in order to fulfill it.  That goes for us today.

In 2 Timothy, chapter 4, verse 5,  we again find that there is a ministry that has been given and that needs to be taken care of.

If we get bashful about sharing Jesus, or get ashamed, we do not have a pretty future to look forward to.  He told us that if we are ashamed before men, He will be ashamed before His Father.

As for me, I would rather not have Him ashamed of me.  I have a mouth and use it.  With God’s help my mouth is now sharing Good News (The Gospel) with others.  I do not want Jesus to be ashamed of me when it comes to be my turn to stand before His/My Father in Heaven.  That is a poor time to find out how I messed up.  I would rather take my chances on getting embarrassed here, than spend eternity in a place where I would be very uncomfortable.

HOW ABOUT YOU ?
